The lyrics:

For One Who Is True

standing in the shadows of giants
an ounce of relief for the tired
all of my dreams are in bloom
a slow reconstruction for one who is true

all of my troubles are sleeping
she holds up a mirror in daylight
all of my ghosts are in blue
a kingdom is waiting for one who is true

Ulysses S. Grant
by Mark Ray

To understand Ulysses S. Grant as a soldier, statesman, friend, horse trader, drinker, writer, and public servant is to understand him as a father and husband. He was not an elegant president and was prone to a naive passion for truth over formality. Yet something endearingly human and relevatory lies at the heart of his career. Toward the end of his days, Grant told those who would listen that the best measure of his life was his fidelity to his wife and his children. Those who did listen were quick to note that this wasn't moralizing, but a simple truth of a life lived hard and well.

As Mark Twain said, "Grant is worth knowing."
